- Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, a 55-year-old
Christian, non-profit agency, helps at-risk
children and their families succeed in the name
of Christ. It serves 124 children everyday in
five psychiatric residential treatment programs
in Bismarck, Fargo and Minot, North Dakota and
in its Fargo Safe Home. - The Ranch also serves children in its Day
Treatment programs. Professional staff help
residents with issues such as substance abuse
and dependence abuse and neglect emotional
disturbances ADHD autism spectrum, oppositional
defiant, and learning disorders and sexual
responsibility issues. - The Ranch is accredited by the Commission on
Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

5Tribecca Corp., Miami, Florida
- Tribecca purchases DBGRs recyclable items and
sells them to a third party for distribution.
6Reducing expense through recycling
- Dakota Boys and Girls ranch garbage expense was
reduced from 106,000 in FY 2005-06 to 75,000 in
FY 2006-07. - The reduction was due primarily to the co-op with
recyclers. - In July 2007, Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch
recycled 197,314 TONS of clothing and
miscellaneous! Thats in one month. - All recycling resulted in an additional 67,977
in funding to our programs.
7How does Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch measure up
to going green?
- We use used furniture and other office items
(which do not sell in our stores) in our own
offices and our residential programs. - Some other ways we try to help the environment
- -- use recycled paper in our Ranch publications
- -- set up display booths about recycling for
Earth Day. - -- have staff and residents who participate in
the Highway clean-up program - -- we car-pool to attend meetings on our
Bismarck, Fargo and Minot campuses

Tribecca, such as gently-used clothing, shoes,
linens, and toys,but
