Background and History

• Ducks Unlimited was founded in 1930 by Joseph
  Knapp
• It was born when acres of wetlands vanished in
  the 1930s
• Joseph Knapp organized the first meeting of Ducks
  Unlimited in 1936
• In the 1960s Ducks Unlimited totaled 568
  conservations projects on 975,500 acres

Promblems

• The lack of volunteers for such an important
  subject
• Trematodes a small intestinal parasite, were
  believed to kill over 3,000 birds
• Land developers developing habitats of waterfowl

Goals

• Seeking a significant amount of volunteers, to
  help maintain North America wetlands, grasslands,
  and waterfowl.
• To reach out to the young generation of hunters
  to help them be better sportsman

Objectives

• By becoming a volunteer you can take advantage of
  many benefits and privileges
• The benefits include Ducks Unlimited gatherings,
  free gifts, and the reassuring feeling of helping
  wildlife and the enviroment

Audience

• The public tended to reach is waterfowl hunter
• Ducks Unlimited would also tend to reach young
  generation hunters to get them to start
  volunteering at a young age to teach them the
  inportance of wetlands conservation

Strategies and Tactics

• The work activity would consist of volunteers
  would meet at a lake, that needed to be cleaned
• The volunteers would get to see the struggles of
  the waterfowl
• The volunteer would walk around the lake and pick
  up trash

Evaluation

• Send out letters to local hunting leases to give
  to their members
• Put of bill boards to reach out to audiences
  while driving
• Contact schools to provide children with the
  information on volunteering
