Wagon

• Joseph, Omaha
• The Wind Wagon Thomas was a cross between a
  sailboat and a wagon, but it crashed and never
  worked.
• The wagons didnt have any safety features.
• Lots of children lost their lives falling off
  the wagons and the wheel ran over them.

Trail

• The trail was hot
• It was rough.
• Lewis and Clark found the Oregon Trail first by
  boat.

Supplies

• Supplies were scarce.
• Careful to bring food supplies that would not rot
  in the heat.
• A family four needs over 1,000 pounds of food.
• They need weapons for protection and hunting
• The wagons were supplies out.
• over loaded so they had to throw

Clothes

• They had wool to make clothes.
• Only 2 sets of clothes for entire trip.
• They didnt have shoes, even during the winter.
• They washed their under clothes only.

Dangers

• Walked 2000 miles bare foot.
• No bathing.
• Hundreds drowned trying to cross the rivers.
• There was diseases such as cholera.
• The weather was bad, thunderstorms and hail.
• Many children died from snake bites.
