Location

• First it is very important to have a prime
  location set. This can determine how many people
  will be able to attend.

Find a Location

• This location must be centrally located and
  embrace the theme that you are trying to
  exemplify such as either an elegant reception or
  a little girl's birthday party.

Make Directions Known

• By including a copy of the directions as well as
  a phone number everyone attending will be able to
  arrive at the correct location.

Date and Time

• The date and time must be chosen by the host and
  he or she must consider who their audience will
  be. For example a 5 year old girl's birthday most
  likely wouldn't be 4 months after her birth date
  at 10 PM.

Set a Sensible Date

• It is important to set a date that will be
  acceptable for many of the recipients of the
  invitation.

Set Appropriate Time

• The time of day or night that the party is
  planned is crucial. If a party is meant to be
  centered on a meal then the time should be set
  accordingly.

Invitations

• Invitations are critical in planning a party
  because the number sent out determines how much
  space there must be at the chosen location. This
  a lot of times can be much work but one of the
  best things to receive in the mail is an
  invitation to a party!

Make a List of Recipients

• This organizational skill causes the party
  planner to see a visual picture of how many
  people will be able to attend the chosen
  location. Also, by making a list recipients it
  lessens the possibility of leaving people out.

Address Envelopes

• Addressing envelopes may seem like a small task
  yet it is the most important. A good party
  planner must address and check the envelopes for
  the correct recipients and their addresses.
