Brief History
  • The 2003 East District Convention adopted the
    following
  • Whereas, the Lord of the Church has blessed our
    District for 125 years with the Gospel and with
    opportunities for missionary outreach and has
    called us to be ambassadors for Christ in the
    ministry of reconciliation, therefore be it
  • Resolved that 1.We all be encouraged by our
    past history to a renewed zeal as ambassadors
    for Christ and 2.The entire membership of the
    District be urged to give thanks to the Lord
    of the church and to set goals for internal
    and external growth for the first decade of
    the new century and
  • 3.We join together in a special District-wide
    Thank offering with a goal of 1,250,000 to
    provide resources for planting new work in the
    East District
  • (Res. 03-3-05)

  • Purpose
  • To raise 1,250,000 before the next convention
  • Strategy
  • Securing major gifts of 3,750 to 125,000 from
    sixty identified and qualified donors
  • The major gifts can be distributed over a 3-5
    year annual pledge of 1,250 to 25,000

Campaign Model
  • The most critical focal point for successful
    campaigns is the relationship between the
    Campaign Solicitors and their prospects
  • Supporting Volunteers in meeting, cultivating,
    and soliciting prospects.
  • QUALITY OF THE CULTIVATION PROCESS IS ABSOLUTE!

  • Campaign Steering Committee (CSC)
  • President Maleske, Mr. Carl Wathke, Rev. George
    Reinhart
  • Advisory Rev. Glenn Stresman,
  • Mark Huehnergard
  • Campaign Management Team (CMT)
  • 1 or 2 Pastors and/or 1or 2 Lay persons from each
    of the nine circuits

Campaign Steering Committee (CSC)
  • Oversight committee for the Campaign
  • Mandate
  • To approve the campaign plan
  • To approve and develop the case for support
  • Identify, recruit and support the CMT
  • Train the CMT

Campaign Management Team (CMT)
  • The CMT serve as team leaders in each circuit as
    solicitors and recruiters
  • Priority
  • Identify potential donor list in your circuit
  • Develop strategies for each prospect
  • Visit your respective donors
  • Update monthly status report to CSC

  • General Campaign - 230,000

  • To position the LCC, East District 125th
    Anniversary Thank Offering as critical to our
    direct future and worthy of investment
  • To give all viable prospects the opportunity to
    make a meaningful gift
  • To visit the top prospects first in order to
    secure lead gifts prior to the general campaign

  • provide structure and documentation support
  • update donor list and activity level
  • document the monthly CMT call status
  • register all donations and pledges
  • provide receipts for major gift donations
