• I can remember when we first met,
• it was the first grade
• Who know then,
• that a great friendship would be made.
• You were crying for your momma and I asked what
  was wrong?
• I tried to reassure you that school would not
  last for long.
• From then on it has been me and you,
• Youve been a great friend, there so many times
  to see me through.

• You were the class clown and
• Even though a lot of your jokes were at my
  expense, you would try and protect me
• And whenever I was having a hard time
• there you would be.
• Do you remember teasing me in high school about a
  bad grade?
• Its a bird, its a plane, no its that big zero
  in Coach Grays room that Shirley made!
• I was so shy that I was afraid to speak
• And youre talking so much should have made you
  weak!
• We were an odd couple and I dont know why we
  have remained this close
• But when I need a friend,
• I consider you the most.

• We both planned to go to Alabama, but it must
  have been fate
• Because you ended up going to Harvard and thats
  where you met your mate.

• We have shared a lot together, your wedding, my
  wedding and Vals too.
• We each had a son first,and its interesting that
  now we all have a total of two.

• You always told me that you would move back to
  Florida and start your own daycare
• Its the perfect job for youyou love to play and
  have so much to share.

• Now I have started my own business consulting and
  writing poetry too
• People actually pay me to give advice now and
  share their feelingswho knew!

• In 2006, you came to visit me after I had my
  second child
• We were able to reconnect and reminisce for a
  little while.
• You tried to cater to me and I wanted to impress
  my guest,
• I wanted to show you Houston and you wanted me to
  rest!

• You were so generousshowering us with gifts for
  my baby and me
• You brought us both Diva Outfits during our
  shopping spree!
• We dressed alike when I took you back to the
  airport just like old days.
• You have been the sister I never had in so many
  ways
• You always could get me out of my shell
• You brought the Diva out of me-
• I now do that well.

• Just wanted you to know that I love you and
  youve been a friend thats real,
• And I wanted to let you know how I feel.
• As the years continue to pass, I hope we will
  always stay close and in contact,
