- Allow for Spring Fall full field outdoor
practice - In 2002-2004 20 to 25 of practices had to be
held indoors - In 2002-2004 10 to 15 of practices had to be
held off campus in Hartford, West Haven, etc. - Time away from campus
- Additional time away from studies
- Missed meals
- Expense of bus or risk of using van
transportation - Artificial turf will also facilitate intramural
club sports -

- Schools without turf at a definite recruiting
disadvantage - Schools with turf advertise the fact.
- All NESCAC Schools except Amherst already have
turf
