  of the worlds energy
• Transportation 70 of US oil consumption
• The US needs 13 million per hour of foreign oil

Small Steps

• Walk or bike for short distances
• Cold engines work harder, emit more CO2
• Public transportation
• Carpool
• Take the train instead of flying

Green Driving Habits

• Drive slower
• 0.20 per gallon of gas every 5 mph above 60 mph
• Accelerate gradually, use cruise control
• Dont idle
• Idling for a minute produces more energy than
  starting up engine
• AC on highway, open windows in traffic

Alternative Fuel

• Purchase more ethanol
• Avoid corn-based ethanol
• Use vehicles that can run diesel
• Ask for biodiesel from the Vanderbilt Biodiesel
