• The Earth is covered with water and land.
• The biggest areas of land are called continents,
  large areas of water are called oceans.

There are 7 continents and 5 oceans!

• Oceans and seas have salt in them. If all the
  salt was taken out of the seas and oceans and
  spread over the top of the land there would be a
  layer 152 metres (500 feet) thick.

• 1) Open page 124 in geog. 1. In the bottom left
  hand corner of the page is a map of the world
  showing all of the continents and oceans.
• 2) Collect a blank map of the world from and use
  the information from page 124 to make your own
  map. Make sure that all 7 continents and all 5
  oceans are labelled correctly and that you have
  used a different colour for each continent.
• 3) Stick you map in your jotter
