• Herpes Esophagitis is a viral infection. It
  causes ulcers and inflammation in the esophagus.
  It harms the esophagus, which is a tube that
  carries food from the mouth to the stomach.

• The main thing to do is to control the infection
  with antiviral medications. Some victims also use
  pain medicine.

Causes and Risks

• People with healthy immune systems seldom get
  infected with the herpes simplex virus. If they
  are infected, they able to recover without
  treatment. On the contrary, people with weak
  immune systems will suffer with constant and
  harsh esophagitis.
• Esophagitis is caused by an infection or
  irritation in the esophagus. An infection can be
  caused by bacteria, fungi, or diseases that
  weaken the immune system.
• The risks involved with Herpes esophagitis are
  AIDS and weaken immune system.

• Difficulty Swallowing
• Painful swallowing
• Fever
• Joint pain or other general symptoms
• Blisters in the mouth

• Pain
• Nausea
• Swallowing difficulty
• Loss of appetite
• Have feeling that food is getting stuck into
  the throat

Who gets it?

• People with weak immune systems are most likely
  to get herpes.
• If a pregnant women has herpes the child is most
  likely to get the herpes as well.
• The virus may be transmitted to the penis, the
  vagina, the rectum, the mouth, and more rarely,
  the esophagus, the trachea, and even onto broken
  areas of skin that may appear anywhere on the
  body.
