Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG)
is the body responsible for staging the 2012
Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are looking for
an Environmental Project Manager to join our
Operations Team. The appointee will report to
the Head of Environment and Sustainability. Key
responsibilities will include To work in close
liaison with LOCOG Venues and Infrastructure,
Sports and Operations teams, the Olympic Delivery
Authority and other stakeholders as appropriate,
to ensure that the design, construction and
operation of venues and other facilities
optimises resource efficiency in terms of energy,
waste, water and materials, and generally conform
to the principles and ethos of London 2012s One
Planet Olympics Programme To produce Venue
Environmental Management Plans for Games
Operations To assist with the development of
operational plans for sustainable transport
services, a closed loop waste management
system, and applications for green technologies
for Games venues and operations The post will
suit someone with a strong professional
background in environmental management, with
experience of major projects. You should be a
full member of an appropriate professional
institute and preferably qualified to Chartered
Environmentalist (CEnv) level. The role requires
good organisational skills and the ability to
think practically and to develop and implement
comprehensive environmental action plans, working
within a multi-disciplinary organisation and
interacting with numerous external stakeholders.
You should be a confident communicator and
prepared to be a passionate advocate for helping
London to deliver inspirational and sustainable
