  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle aches
  • Chills
  • Vomiting (with young children)
  • Sometimes diarrhea (with young children)

  • Cover nose mouth
  • Wash hands
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose mouth
  • Avoid close contact with sick residents

PreventionHand Washing
  • Wet hands with warm water then apply soap
  • Rub soapy hands together for 20 -30 seconds
  • Use fingernails of one hand to clean nails of
    other
  • Rinse hands thoroughly to remove all soap
  • Turn off water with paper towel
  • Dry hands with air dryer or another paper towel
  • Toss the paper towel once you are done

  • Use alcohol based disposable wipes or gel
    sanitizers

  • Place a quarter sized of gel in palm
  • Rub hands together covering with gel
  • Continue to rub until dry

  • Dispose of wipe in trash
