Control Panel Overview
Key pad A Qwerty Keypad, used to enter an email
address.
Programmable Features The programmable features
allow you to program your job based on your
originals and the required output
Modes Depending on your machines configuration
select the mode you wish to use, Copy, Fax,
E-mail, Machine Status, Job Status
Textual Interface and Navigation The textual
interface displays information relating to the
mode and status of the machine or job. In
addition the textual interface will display menu
options that are appropriate to the selected
feature. Use the navigation keys to work through
the menus and make Your selections.
Fax features If you have a fax on your machine,
pressing these buttons allows you to enter the
fax number using one of the various methods
Number Pad Use the number to enter the amount of
copies you require, the fax number or the speed
dial number. Also use the number pad to enter
speed dial and group dial ID names. Characters
are shown above the number.
Controls The control buttons allow you start,
stop or interrupt your current job. The AC button
will clear the most recent programming features

How to Load Paper
  • The Bypass Tray can hold an additional 100 sheets
    of 80 g/m2 paper. Use the bypass tray to feed
    envelopes, labels, transparencies or card
  • Adjustable Paper Trays hold sizes ranging from A5
    to Legal. The Standard paper tray holds up to 550
    sheets of 80 g/m2 paper.

Load the Paper
  • Pull open the paper tray and push
  • Adjust the rear paper guide to the required
    length. To adjust the paper guide, lift the rear
    guide out of the current position and into the
    required position
  • Insert the paper into the tray. If loading letter
    head paper, make sure the design is face up and
    the top edge of the paper is placed at the right
    side of the paper tray
  • Make sure that the paper is positioned under the
    snubbers.
  • Do not fill above the Maximum Fill Line.
  • Position the side guide by squeezing the lever
    and sliding it torward the stack of paper, until
    it gently touches the side of the stack. Do not
    allow the guide to press against the edge of the
    paper too tightly.
  • Close the Tray
  • If the tray information is correct, select the
    Confirm button.

Confirm the Paper Size
  • After loading the paper you will need to set the
    default paper size using the control panel
    buttons. These settings apply to the Copy and
    Fax modes only. In the PC Printing mode, the
    paper size is selected in the application program
    being used.
  • Use the navigation keys to select the paper size
    required and press Enter to save the selection.
  • Repeat the procedure for Tray 2 size if
    available and Bypass Size
  • Press Menu/Exit to exit each menu level and
    return to standby mode.
  • Press the Machine Status button
  • Use the navigation keys to select Machine Setup
    and press enter.
  • The displays shows Tray 1 Size on the bottom
    line.
  • If required, use the navigation buttons to
    display the required paper tray. Press Enter.

How to Make a Copy
Select Copy Mode
  • Ensure Ready to Copy displays
  • If necessary, press the Copy key to change to
    Copy mode. The Copy key remains illuminated when
    selected.

Load the Documents

  • Place the documents in the Document Handler in
    order (1,2,3) with page 1 face up on top.
  • Slide the document guides against the edge of the
    paper
  • OR place the document face down on the Document
    Glass and register it to the rear LEFT corner

Select Features and Number of Copies

  • Press the Copy feature key required on the
    Control Panel. Basic features available for Copy
    jobs are Lighten/Darken, Reduce/Enlarge, 2 Sided,
    Collated, Original Type and Color Original.
  • Using the Navigation Keys, select the setting
    required for the feature and press Enter.
  • Use the Numeric Keypad to enter the number of
    copies required
  • If necessary, press Clear/Clear All to clear
    the current quantity and enter a new quantity.
  • Press Start to begin the copy job
  • If Collated is On, when the document is fed from
    the Document Glass, the display shows Scan
    Another?.
  • To scan another original, load the next original
    and using the Navigation Keys select Yes and
    press Enter. Continue the procedure until all
    the originals have been scanned.
  • Select No when all the originals have been
    scanned, and press Enter. Printing commences
    and copies are delivered to the Output Tray.

How to Send a Fax
1
Load the Documents
  • Adjust the sliding document guide to the size
    required.
  • Insert the originals neatly into the document
    feeder, face up.
  • Align the stack with the rear and left edges of
    the tray.

Select the Fax Key
  • Press the Fax key to activate the fax mode.
  • The Fax key will remain illuminated when
    selected

Select the Fax Features
  • Select the fax feature key required in the
    control panel.
  • Basic features available for fax jobs are lighten
    / darken, 2 sided, Original type, Colour original
    and resolution
  • Using the navigation keys, select the setting
    required for the feature and press enter

Enter the Fax number
Press Start

  • Use the numeric keypad to enter the number of the
    remote fax machine
  • Pressing the Clear / Clear all key will delete
    the entire fax number entered
  • Press Start to begin the fax job.

Job Status
  • To view the status of a job press the Job
    Status key
  • To add a page to a job select the required job
    using the navigation keys and press Enter.
    Load the original and select Add Page and press
    Enter
  • Press Menu/Exit to exit job status

How to Scan to E-mail

Load the Documents
  • Adjust the sliding document guide to the size
    required.
  • Insert the originals neatly into the document
    feeder, face up.
  • Align the stack with the rear and left edges of
    the tray.

Enter senders name

  • The email screen displays from or my login name
  • Enter sender name using the alphabet keyboard and
    then select Enter
  • If authentication has been enabled enter your
    login name and password.

Enter the Recipients Email Address

  • The To screen displays. Enter the recipients
    email address and they press the enter key.
  • You can enter an email address directly using the
    alphabet keyboard or if you have chosen to use a
    local or global address book, type in the
    beginning of the email address and press enter.
  • Use the navigation keys to select the required
    address and press enter.

Other options
Select Add to add another address or Done to
continue
Select Yes to send a copy to your email
account. Select No if this is not required.
Select Yes to review the address you have
entered. Select No if this is not required
Enter a subject to the mail note using the
alphabet keyboard. Press Enter to continue
Select PDF or TIFF format as required. Press
Enter to continue
Start the Job

  • Press Start to send the email.
  • If the display shows Scan Another?, load the
    next original and using the navigation keys
    select Yes then press Enter.
  • Select No when all of the originals have been
    scanned and press Enter.
  • The email is sent.
