9What happened next?
- Hitler and the Nazi Party attempted the Munich
Putsch in November 1923. - This failed as they did not have support.
- Gustav Stresemann became Chancellor.
- He ordered the striking Ruhr back to work and
introduced a new currency, the Rentenmark.
10Why didnt Weimar Germany collapse in 1923?
- People were still willing to give democracy a
chance. - The extremists had failed to seize power through
violent means. - People wanted peace and order.
- Stresemann resolved the immediate problems of
1923.
