DNA

• Funding can cost up to 10 million
• There is lots of train involved such as
• Criminal Justice community
• Law enforcement
• Forensics scientists
• Medical personal

• DNA can be used to Identify criminals with
  accuracy.
• Can also be used to clear a suspect of being
  wrongfully accused.
• DNA is used to solve crimes in 2 ways. (1) Take a
  sample of the suspects DNA and compare to the DNA
  found at the crime scene. (2) It can be used to
  help find a person not identified by taking the
  DNA and putting it into a database to look up the
  persons profile.

Fingerprints

• Fingerprints are similar to DNA testing
• Once finger prints are found they can be put in
  to a database and bring up the criminals
  profiles.
• People get careless and leave fingerprints
  everywhere
• Even when you have no suspect prints can develop
  leads and sometimes provide clues about the
  criminal
• Should not always rely on them because they are
  not facts. They could also disprove a story or a
  victim.

Computer Forensics

• Ties into both fingerprinting and DNA testing
• With out it the law would have a difficult time
  catching criminals
• Hack into other computers to find evidence of
  illegal transactions or other stuff.
• Search computers for files deleted files, hidden
  files, and print outs
• Evidence come in many forms

Sherlock Holmes View

• Has both advantages and disadvantages for Holmes
• This type of technology would be very helpful to
  Sherlock Holmes
• It would add to his intelligence helping him
  solve crimes faster
• Also there may be less use of him since other
  people could use this technology as well
• Probably wouldnt be as well know as he is
  people wouldnt need him as much
