Aquila Planning Procedures

• Produce a long-range planning study every three
  years at least 10 years into the future
• Assess long-range plan for near term budget each
  spring
• Participate in joint studies with neighboring
  utilities on issues of mutual interest
• Participate in CCPG regional planning efforts

• Load growth in Pueblo
• Load growth in Canon City
• Load growth in Cripple Creek/Victor area

• Pueblo Area Plans
• General approach is to move load from 69 kV
  system to 115 kV system
• Planning three new 115 kV substations in Pueblo
  area in the next 3-5 years
• New substations will pick up new load and shift
  some existing load from 69 kV to 115 kV
• Also plan to add approximately 20 new miles of
  115 kV transmission line in the area

• Canon City and Cripple Creek/Victor Areas Plans
• Plan to build a new 115 kV line up the Cripple
  Creek area and install a 115/69 kV Substation in
  the next 2-5 years
• Improvement will support load growth in both
  areas
