Title: Giant Cell Tumor

1
Giant Cell Tumor
  • Giant cell tumor is a relatively common and
    locally aggressive bone tumor
  • Usually giant cell tumors are found in the long
bones, especially in the distal femur and
proximal tibia (50-65 of giant cell tumors occur
    around the knee)
  • When giant cell tumors occur in the pelvis, they
usually are located near the sacroiliac or hip
    joints (arrow)
  • Giant cell tumors are osteolytic lesions,
extending to subchondral bone in the long bones,
usually without a significant sclerotic rim
