Positions

• Setter
• Always takes second ball
• Responsible for setting up the offense(spike)
• Can play front and back row
• Right Side
• Plays opposite the setter(when setter is front
  row, the player is back row)
• Spikes,blocks, and digs on the right side of the
  net, behind the setter

Positions

• Outside
• Hits on the left side of the net
• Always two outsides playing at a time(one
  spiking, blocking in front rowthe other passing
  in the back row)
• Usually gets the majority of the sets
• Middle
• Plays in the middle of the court/net
• While front row, responsible for blocking every
  hitter on the other side of the net
• Usually the best passer on the team in back row

Defense

• Block
• Only front row players can block
• Outside positions block right side hitters on
  other team
• Right side positions block outside hitters on
  other team
• Middle positions block middle, outside, and right
  side hitters
• Dig/Pass
• Usually players in back row dig/pass the ball
• Usually starts the offense/first hit on each side

• Five-One
• A type of volleyball offense where there is only
  one setter and he/she plays front and back row
• There is also only one right side hitter who
  plays front and back row

• A type of volleyball offense where there are two
  setters and they only play back row
• There are also two right side hitters who only
  play front row
• There are always three hitters in the front row
