  • (1) Benign cystic teratoma
  • Consist mainly of ectodermal structures such
    as skin and its appendages, and also respiration
    components, intestinal epithelium, bone, and
    cartilage.
  • (2) Solid teratoma (frequently malignant)
  • Commonly found in children
  • Embryonic, fetal and adult tissues of all
    types may be mixed together.

2. Nephroblastoma (Wilms tumor)
  • Definition An embryonic type of tumor derived
    from renal rudiments, one of the commonest
    maligner tumor in childhood.
  • Gross a large well circumscribed growth which
    rapidly invades blood vessels, giving rise to
    pulmonary secondaries
  • Histological Primitive glomerular structures,
    spindle cells resembling sarcoma, with tubules
    and acini

  • 3. Carcinosarcoma
  • A tumor containing compositions of both
    carcinomas and sarcomas.
