  • Place the documents in the feeder for scanning
  • Change the page-type, resolution and color-mode
    as needed
  • Press Scan on the touch-panel display or the
    green Scan button on the device
  • When scanning, a green activity bar moves across
    the screen until the scanning and
    thumbnail-generation is complete

Note Available file formats include TIFF, JPEG,
PDF (with or without OCR), Word, Excel and RTF.

  • Communicates to thin-client applets running on
    MFP control panels
  • Controls the registration of MFP devices and host
    plug-in connectors
  • No physical limit to the number of MFPs that can
    be connected to a single server, however the
    recommended maximum is (20) MFPs managed by one
    server.

  • Before connecting to a Java SDK-enabled MFP
  • Install the Java SD card (Java SDK 2.x or later)
  • Enable the SDK on the device panel according to
    the device instructions
  • Follow these steps to add a Java SDK MFP
  • Activate the license
  • Set up the IIS Extension
  • Add a device
  • DocSend Server button appears after pressing
    the Other Function button on the MFP panel

  • Ricoh Tab
  • The Ricoh tab becomes available after a valid
    Ricoh device license has been entered on the
    server.
  • You must configure IIS for Ricoh Java
    connectivity.
  • Configuration for IIS is initiated when you click
    IIS Extension Setup.
  • The installation tool automatically creates a
    shared folder for the MFP to transfer documents
    to the server.
  • MFP devices require valid log-in credentials to
    log on to the folder and deposit the scan images.
  • Log-in credentials are passed to the MFP for
    authentication back to the IKON DocSend Server.
  • The IIS Extension Setup checks that the log-in
    credentials are valid.

Note If the log-in credentials change in the
future, the administrator must return to this
screen and update the IIS Extension Setup.
