Obstructive Sleep Apnea or OSA Obstructive Sleep
Apnea (OSA) is a sleeping disorder of the partial
or complete collapse of the upper airway thus
causing the inability to breathe. The person has
to be aroused from the sleep to clear the airway.
This cycle repeats many times through the night
depriving the person from reaching deep stages of
sleep which is needed for the body to replenish
its strength.
AIM The aim of this thesis is to look into ways
and methods of simplifying the diagnosis of OSA
through the analysis of the snores. The final
product is a user friendly Graphical User
Interface (GUI).
The main page of the Graphical User Interface. It
consist of an introduction explaining OSA effects
and symptoms. The second part is a toolbox to
view and analyse data collected from the hospital.

Poloysomnography (PSG) Poloysomnography (PSG) or
known as sleep study is the foremost accurate and
commonly used diagnostic method to detect OSA.
PSG can only be done under the supervision of a
qualified technician and in a hospital. It is a
costly and complicated diagnostic test.
Toolbox showing important data for the diagnosis
of the patient. It displays the spectrum of the
data at a touch of a push button.
