28Next, we look at Progress (AYP)
29Refresher What is AYP?
- AYP goals detail the percentage of students who
must score proficient or above in READING AND
MATH, the percentage of enrolled students who
must participate in READING ANDMATH testing, and
the percentage who must be in attendance and
graduate during the school year
30And.
- AYP goals for the percentage of proficient and
participating students are applied to each school
AND district as well as to each of 10 student
groups within a school and district
31AND..
- AYP graduation and attendance goals are applied
to schools and district, but not each student
group
32And.
- Failure to meet any of the proficient or
participation goals, attendance levels and/or
graduation targets, results in the school or
district missing AYP
33Lets break it down
- AYP Adequate Yearly Progress
- AYP is a federal requirement
- AYP is for READING and MATH only
- AYP Summary for a building
- AYP Participation participation rate
calculations and results for reading and math for
the designated subgroups and tested grade levels - AYP Proficiency shows the AYP rate calculations
and results for the designated subgroups in which
tested grade levels are combined by tested
subjects
