The Scientific Report
The cover page and TOC wont be numbered. You
will write your report starting from page 1. The
report will be written in 10-12 font size and
double spaced.
You are totally free in designing your report.
However, you must be careful in writing the
sections below
The figures, The equations and The references.
6
Inserting the figures
In your presentations and reports, we advise you
to use the figures to present some of your ideas.
This is an effective way of expressing your
ideas.
The figures can be in the main body of the text.
Each figure must have a Figure Caption indicating
the number of the figure and a short expression
of what it represents.
7
Inserting the Equations
You may have some equations describing the
physical phenomenon subject to your report.
While presenting the equations they must be
centered and numbered.
8
References
In a scientific report, paper or a thesis, you
are expected to use several references. The
references must be indicated in the main body of
the text by assigning a number for each. They
must be listed in the References part of the
report as a list indicating the numbers.

For example,
The generation of large amplitude plasma waves by
means of n short laser pulses is presented. S.
Dalla and M. Lontano, Phys. Rev. E 49, R1819
(1994)
Instead of n short laser pulses, we have
demonstrated the particle acceleration by means
of a single laser pulse making multiple round
trip propagation B. Yedierler and S. Bilikmen,
Eur. Phys. J. D 13, 367 (2001)
You may write, The particle acceleration in
plasmas by means of n short laser pulses 1 and
multiple passages of a single pulse 2 is
present in the literature.

How to write the references
If you are writing a book reference, F. L.
Pedrotti and L. S. Pedrotti, Introduction to
Optics Prentice Hall Inc., New Jersey (1987), p.
158.
If you are writing a Journal reference, S. Dalla
and M. Lontano, Phys. Rev. E 49, R1819 (1994).
  • If you provide the information from somebody,
  • A.Ecevit, Private communication, METU, Ankara
    (2001).
  • If you write a reference from internet,
  • Retrieved October 28,2001
  • From the World Wide Web
  • http//www.energylan.sandia.gov

How to prepare the Poster
The poster presentation is a good way of academic
interaction.
While preparing the posters, you must
consider How does your poster look? Is it
readable from a distant point? Is it
understandable and easy to follow?

Do not Forget!
  • Nobody will ask you a question to get you in
    trouble.
  • We all know you are sophomores, we are not
expecting scientific contributions but you must
    understand what you have studied.
  • Be scientific, be careful in expressing the facts
and be as clear as you can.
  • If you dont know the answer of a question simply
    say I dont know
