Objective

• New command codes values are required by 3GPP for
  new Diameter vendor-specific applications defined
  for EPS
• Current IANA policy in RFC 3588 "still" requires
  an I-D for allocation request
• This constraint is relaxed in RFC 3588-bis
• This draft is the support of the request.

Background

• 3GPP has defined the Evolved Packet System (EPS)
• as part of their Release 8 architecture that
  should be completed in March 2009.
• In this architecture, two new Diameter
  applications are defined (under the 3GPP
  vendor-id "10415")
• 3GPP S6a application (VS appl-id 1677251)
• 3GPP S13 application (VS appl-id 1677252)
