Digimap Service - logging in

• Step 1 Click login button
• Already authenticated with your institution in
  your web browser? Direct access.
• Not authenticated? Go to Step 2.

• Step 2 Select institution, input login details.
• Now redirected to Digimap Collections Home page.
• Not redirected? Check access notes

Finding Digimap Classic

• Click on Digimap Classic under Welcome panel

• map of GB displayed
• enter place name, postcode or click on GB map
  to make a map
• support available through Help in navigation bar

• content controlled through legend panel on left

  selecting icons above map and clicking on map

• turn features on and off using check boxes in

• mirrors popular Landranger map series
• no customisation available since this is a raster

• mirrors popular Explorer map series

• important buildings highlighted (e.g. schools,
  hospitals)
• no customisation available since this is a raster

• shows individual buildings, pavement edges, house
  names, landscape features
• customisable by clicking in legend panel check
  boxes
• centre point of any map is maintained

Digimap Classic - Map Chest

• maps can be saved in a user's Map Chest
• unique to each user
• maps erased after 5 days
• print from Map Chest as
• GIF (draft quality)
• EPS (high quality vector)
• PDF (high quality)
• EPS printing requires appropriate software and
  hardware (e.g. postscript printer)
