Objectives for Phase II Project

• Evaluate pathogen reduction characteristics of
  various methods of tissue / carcass disposal
  including anaerobic digestion, alkaline
  digestion, and composting
• Evaluate the options for various waste streams
  available to South Dakota State University and
  the Animal Disease Research Diagnostic Laboratory
  given current biosecurity concerns
• including materials potentially infected with
  BSL2-level prions
• such as Scrapie and Chronic Wasting Disease
