Today's Problems

• Button-based operating panel at fixed position
• No simultaneous observation of manufacturing
  process and input unit
• Rigid, complex, hierarchical, hard-to-learn,
  function oriented dialogue structures

Project Objective

• Increase productivity and ergonomics
• at manufacturing systems by developing
• a task oriented flexible user interface
• with speech input
• which offers one single HMI for interaction
• with all components of a manufacturing system.

Expected Results of TOSCA (1)

• A data structure for task oriented logging of
  input and distributing it to the participating
  manufacturing units,
• A speech recognition system for adverse
  conditions,
• The implementation of the data structure and the
  integration of a speech system into the numerical
  control (NC) systems,
