3rd RPF November 2001Proposed Resolution

• ISSUE
• Problems have recently been experienced with the
  availability/curtailment of bitumen supplies for
  various reasons, some of which are
• Accidents at refinery plants
• Type of crudes/diets
• Exports at expense of local industry (commercial)
• This has resulted in abnormal extraordinary cost
  to (ultimately) the client bodies brings into
  question cost-effectiveness of bituminous
  surfacings

Resolution Proposed

• That a RPF Task Group be formed to monitor the
  situation of bitumen manufacture, with a view to
  keeping the relevant industry players/stakeholders
  informed of bitumen availability.
