Bottom Line How do rehabilitation
professionals cope with job stress? What you
Learned (NOT how you learned it) If you need
help ask for it! This applies not only to rehab
professionals managing their clients treatment
but managing their own stress levels. Once a
rehab professional asks for help and, when they
understand the context of their professional
duties (i.e., participating in change, job
appraisals) they achieve greater life and job
satisfaction. Basically they are happier
people. So! The Bottom Line is (link back to
Bottom Line) Therefore, to cope with job
stress, rehabilitation professionals must learn
to manage not only patient related stress but
their own personal stress and professional stress
by being trained to communicate effectively,
adopting interpersonal skills and managerial
skills and knowledge.
