Aim of the study programme
  • The aim of the study
  • programme is to develop
  • knowledge of and reflection
  • about culture in general,
  • and childrens culture in the
  • Nordic countries especially,
  • and to develop an
  • understanding of
  • childrens perspective in the
  • matter of culture

  • experience is both
  • Childrens own cultural expressions
  • The culture adults pass on to children

Organization
  • Four modules, one in each
  • of the participating
  • countries
  • Finland (Jakobsstad)
  • Norway (Tønsberg)
  • The Faroe Islands
  • (Torshavn)
  • Denmark (Copenhagen)

  • Five students from each country
  • One month in each of the four institutions
  • Nordplus mobility and accommodation grants to
    students
  • Nordplus meeting grants for participating
    teachers

  • A part of a bachelor degree or as further
    education for graduated teachers
  • Accepted as a part of the study programme in the
    four countries teacher education

  • The students should also be
  • able to
  • Compare cultural experiences in the different
    Nordic countries, and learn from comparison
  • Discuss and understand the special and unique in
    each countrys culture, but also cultural
    simularities and attitudes to culture in the
    Nordic countries

  • Childrens culture in everyday life

  • Folktales as a collective fiction universe
  • Norwegian folktales and their symbolic and
    mythical power
  • Folktales and the development of childrens
    narrative competance
  • Experiencing folktales and landscape through
    childrens outdoor activities
  • Outdoor life and nature as a part of cultural
    life

  • Theories of childrens creative development
  • Children and art, drama and music
  • Folktales, stories and myths in childrens
    creative development
  • Development of the students ability to teach,
    observe, analyse and evaluate creative processes

  • Relations between different ways of living and
    cultural expressions
  • Relations between the individual and the cultural
    and historical context
  • Outdoor activities as culture

  • Methods for analysing and interpreting practice
