Classroom Management
  • Follow directions the first time they are given.
  • Raise your hand and wait to be called on before
    speaking.
  • Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  • Stay in your seat and work quietly unless you
    have permission to get up.
  • Respect yourself and others no name-calling,
    cursing, teasing, or put-downs.

If a student chooses to break a rule
  • 1st time Warning
  • 2nd time Lose recess
  • 3rd time Lose recess and write down class rules
    (to be signed by a parent)
  • 4th time Lose recess, write rules, and a phone
    call/e-mail to parent
  • 5th time/or Severe Disruption Student sent to
    principals office immediately

Homework
  • Homework will be given nightly, Monday through
    Thursday.
  • It should last approximately 45 minutes.
  • Students should read for a minimum of 20 minutes
    each night.
  • It will consist of practice or reinforcement of
    material taught in class.
  • All homework is due the following morning, unless
    specified otherwise
  • Students will sit out at recess to complete any
    unfinished homework.
  • Any late assignment not turned in by the next day
    results in a decrease of grade for each day late.
  • Be neat. Show pride in your work!
  • Keep track of your assignments. YOU are
    responsible for them.

Projects and Reports
  • There will be monthly book reports, due the last
    Friday of each month.
  • There will be a project for each trimester.

Extra Credit/Redo Work
  • Extra credit projects/assignments may be offered
    periodically by the teacher.
  • Extra credit for the sole purpose of bringing up
    grades will not be offered.
  • Students will be able to redo work with a grade
    of D or F.
  • It must be student initiated.
  • The new score will be an average of the original
    score and the new score.

GATE/ELD
  • GATE students will be given projects to complete
    both individually and in groups. They will be
    given time daily to work on these assignments.
  • ELD students will be given 30 minutes of
    additional instruction per day by a fourth grade
    teacher, using district adopted materials.
