• BACKGROUND
• UNDG launched a spouse employment initiative in
  2004.
• LESAs are being created by volunteers in field
  offices worldwide.

Our Purpose

• To provide support for United Nations and
  affiliated International Organization spouses and
  partners who seek employment in India.

• PROPOSED STRATEGIES
• Sharing information.
• Providing referral mechanisms to existing
  networks and services.
• Interfacing with other development agencies,
  corporations, bilateral missions, NGOs and other
  non-UN organizations about spouse employment
  issues.
• Spearheading recommendations for action for UN
  agencies to take up in support of spouse
  employment.

How to Make It Work

• Welcome newcomers!
• Acknowledge volunteer status of LESA.
• Make use of existing networks and resources.
• Ask for active and material support from the
  Operations Mgmt Team of the UN Country Team.
• Create web-based resources via UNDP website.
