• Official status--advising the ADs (ADs take the
  blame)
• Closed-subscription mailing list
  (rtg-dir_at_ietf.org)
• Used mainly for review of the documents coming
  OUT of the area
• Also to review some documents coming to the IESG

• General appeals rarely work
• Each document is assigned two reviewers
  (depending on the topic)
• Dead-line is set
• Comments are usually sent to the WG
• sometimes discussed in rtg-dir first
• sometimes ADs proxy comments
• Comments get recorded in the tracker

• Recent optimization WG LCs cced to rtg-dir
• Recent optimization IESG agenda fwded to
  rtg-dir
• Consider it late review, hence request to look
  for show-stoppers only, plus ID-nits
• Ask reviewers to separate technical comments from
  editorial/nits suggestions
