  University Park campus

People are always talking about THON What is it?

• 46 Hour Dance Marathon
• Raises money to support families with children
  suffering from pediatric cancer
• Plenty of ways to be involved raise money, be on
  a committee, dance in THON the possibilities are
  endless!

• Last February, THON raised 7.5 million!!!!!
• It is the largest student-run philanthropy in the
  world!

• Buy a Meal Plan (it is attached to your student
  ID)
• Creamery ice cream at every dining hall
• Seriously the food is really good ?

• WE HAVE GYMS!
• Every campus has fitness facilities!
• Buy a fitness membership and it will give you
  access to all gyms (including an indoor pool) and
  all fitness classes
• Bring your headphones and enjoy the newest
  equipment!

What do you do for Fun?

• Go to Football Games!! Try to get season
  tickets- first come, first serve
• Watch other sports basketball, volleyball,
  baseball (new stadium), soccer, gymnastics the
  list goes on forever
• Join an organization! Be a part of a theatre
  group, dance club, choral group the
  possibilities are endless!
• LATE NIGHT PENN STATE!

Im Going to College to Learn Some Stuff What
About Academics?

• Penn State has every major you could think of
• There is even a major for people who are
  undecided (Division of Undergraduate Studies-
  DUS)
• Some classes will be big but many of them will
  have less than 30 people
• Professors have office hours each week and LOVE
  visitors!

Will I Just Study Classes that are for my Major?

• Nope! Students have to take General Education
  Courses
• Penn State wants students to graduate with a
  well-rounded education
• 45 credits of general education courses- math,
  behavioral sciences, arts and humanities, health
  and physical activity, and natural sciences

What about an Honors Program?

• Schreyer Honors College
• Some say its on par with Ivy League Schools
  (whoa!)
• Scholars are at all campuses
• Take a certain number of honors credits each year
• Small scholarship
• Maintain a 3.33 GPA
