About the novel
  • The Da Vinci Code is a mystery-detective fiction
    novel written by the American author Dan Brown in
    2003. It follows the enterprises of the
    symbologis Robert Langdon as he investigates a
    murder in the Louvre Museum in Paris and
    discovers a battle between thePriority of Sion
    and Opus Dei about a possible marriage between
    Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene, from whom Jesus
    might have had a son.
  • The title of the novel refers to the fact that a
    murdered man is found in the the Louvre, naked
    and lying like the Vitruvian Man inLeonardo da
    Vincis famous drawing, with a crypted message
    written beside his body and a pentacle drawn on
    his stomach in his own blood.

The plot
  • The symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent
    late-night phone call while he is in Paris on
    business the elderly curator of the Louvre has
    been murdered inside the museum. Near the body,
    police have found a cipher alluding to a riddle,
    which Robert manages to solve. The riddle leads
    to a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da
    Vinci disguised by the painter

  • Langdon meets a talented French cryptologist,
    Sophie Neveu, and learns the late curator was
    involved in the Priory of Sionan actual secret
    society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton,
    Botticelli, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci,etc. The
    Louvre curator has sacrificed his life to protect
    the Priory's most sacred secret the location of
    a greatly important religious relic, hidden for
    centuries.

    races throughParis, London, and face relentless
    adventure, in the end Sophie is discovered to be
    the last living heir of Magdalene and Jesus
