Title: Dotmocracy

1
Dotmocracy The
Lunch-Room Dilemma
2
What is Dotmocracy?
  • Dotmocracy is fun democracy.
  • Everyone had a say in how were going to solve
    the lunchroom dilemma.
  • Each student and staff member read the parts of
the problem that we were all assigned to and what
    their solution was.
  • Then the people chosen to participate in
Dotmocracy read the possible solutions and wrote
what they believed would improve the ideas.
  • Then we voted and put a dot (thats what the dot
is in dotmocracy) between excellent, good, ok,
not so good, and disagree completely. Then we
switched stations and went to a new problem to
    vote.

3
How we used it
  • First everyone sat down on their designated
tables with other classroom/grade students. Each
person talked about what they liked about the
solution for the different grade level problem.
Then they wrote down what they liked, disliked,
and wrote what a good idea to add would be. Then
they voted and signed their names. Later on we
will tally up the votes and see what the majority
of the voters thought and choose what is the best.

4
All in all
  • Everybody seemed to think it was awesome and we
had a lot of fun discussing the matters of the
problem and solution. By the way everyone worked
it looked like everyone had a good time. Next we
will be counting the votes and tally them up and
then we will make decisions based on the lunch
    room procedures with the votes.

5
What we thought
  • Teachers, Paras, students, and everyone else
liked Dotmocracy and they liked that everyone
could write down everything they liked and
disliked. Everyone got a chance to talk and say
    what they wanted.

6
Next steps
  • Classroom representatives share information with
homerooms. next step is too develop five rules in
the lunchroom that your class can live with. Then
send them to Ms. Stoicovy by Friday. Our next
representative meeting is in the faculty room at
    900 AM on Monday.
