Title: Impressionism
1Impressionism
- French Impressionnisme, a major art
- movement, first in painting and later in
- music, developed in France during
- the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
2The impressionist style of painting is
characterized by concentration on the general
impression produced by a scene or object and
often the use of unmixed primary colors and small
strokes to simulate reflected light.

3The founders of Impressionism wanted to break
with the official art. They believed color
should be dropped pure on the canvas instead of
getting mixed on the palette.
