Regulation and Enforcement
  • Individual states and the EPA are responsible for
    regulating and enforcing the Clean Water Act, but
    states are inadequately doing so. To enforce the
    law, there are fines and permits, as well as
    prison time up to 15 years for knowing
    endangerment. individuals can bring a lawsuit
    against a violator, and states can request EPA
    involvement if required or requested.
