Environmental Social Impact
  • Minor environmental impacts only during
    construction period i-e air pollution due to
    heavy construction traffic, blasting
  • No significant social impacts besides relocation
    of some houses, 7 km road in reservoir area, some
    shops and roads, side restaurants, WAPDA grid
    station and Azad Pattan Bridge
  • Above mentioned impacts are too small therefore
    making project more feasible and attractive

Conclusion
  • No logistical problems due to easy project
    approach
  • Project location is close to the national grid
    system and load center ,hence there will be no
    problem in power dispersal
  • Project completion time is approximately 4.5
    years.
  • No significant environmental and social
    impact.Run of the river project.
  • Facts and figures brought out in this
    presentation lead to ascertain that Karot HPP is
    an economical and ESI free proposition compared
    to other such projects in the private and public
    sectors of Pakistan
