Conclusions

• Weldability (joinability) of a material is the
  property which should be included into its
  specifications.
• Criterion of weldability (joinability) of a
  material as a property is the degree of its
  degradation, which should be evaluated on the
  basis of the generalised energy indicator.
• Through its physical interpretation, energy
  indicators and control methods, the extent of
  degradation can be a clue to investigation of the
  ageing processes, estimation of a potential and
  actual life of a material, and evaluation of
  reliability of structures and constructions under
  different potential and actual loadings, i.e.
  changes in equilibrium conditions in the
  "material technology joining structure
  environment" system
