Quantitative Method

• Asks What, When, and Where
• Deals with numbers and anything that is
  measurable
• Result of research is a number or a series of
  numbers
• Often requires large samples
• Presented in graphs, tables, charts , etc

Qualitative Method

• Investigates WHY and HOW of decision making
• Focuses on the reasons behind various aspects of
  behaviour
• Often requires smaller, but more focused samples

Statistical Inference

• Process of reaching conclusions concerning a
  population based on random samplings

Empirical Analysis

• A central concept in research methodology that
  states that all evidence must be empirical
  (dependent on evidence that is observable by the
  senses).
