What is Pathway?

• Pathway is PeopleSoft
• Rolla calls it JoeSS
• Columbia calls it myZou
• UMKC will call it Pathway
• just like how students knew CICS as STAR

Class Search

• The new-and-improved online searchable class
  schedule its REAL TIME!
• Training materials and a link for students to
  access the Class Search will be available on the
  Schedule Web site www.umkc.edu/sched
• We still have the day-old printable version
• Updates are on-going, although we are trying to
  get the bulk of them done by April 13, before
  registration begins.

Registration Timeline

• Schedule announced to students and appointment
  times e-mailed to students March 19
• Spring Break March 26-30
• Pathway Self-Service open to students and
  advisors April 2
• Priority registration April 16-27
• Open registration April 30
• Finals April 30-May 4
• May Intercession still in CICS, May 7-18
• First 5-week Summer Session begins May 21 in
  Pathway

Registration Start Times

• Priority Time Assignment
• Honors (April 16)
• Dental, Medicine, Pharmacy (April 16 or 17)
• Graduate (April 17 or 18)
• Law (April 18 or 19)
• Undergraduate (April 23-27)
• Within each of these subsets, students are
  assigned appointments first by number of credit
  hours and then by GPA
• Dual-Appointment times are going away students
  can register online or in-person after their
  Registration Start Time.

How will you advise a student?

• Conversions and data clean-up are constantly
  under way moving data from CICS to PeopleSoft
  right now
• CICS is still considered the System of Record
  and most data entered into PeopleSoft is
  interfaced to CICS overnight
• Use CICS to look-up students academic
  information that you need for advising
• Use PeopleSoft to release advising hold and
  register for classes

Advisor Training

• View training dates and sign-up for training
  www.umkc.edu/registrar/training
• Training for next 3-weeks is for Pathway-lite
  you will have only what you need to be able to
  register students
• Additional access and additional training will
  come in late May or June

Training Topics

• Find out a students registration start time
• Tell if a student is eligible to register
• Add and release advising holds
• View other holds a student has
• Enter maximum hours for a specific student
• Use the Student Self-Service Center
• Give consent to a student to take a restricted
  course

Transfer Credit

• Transfer credit has already been converted from
  CICS to PeopleSoft
• Transfer credit for former and continuing
  students is still be entered in CICS
• We are no longer entering transfer credit for new
  students into CICS
• Use ImageWeb to view a new students transcript
  and access transfer coursework as needed

Refund Dates forSummer Fall

• The fee refund schedule is changing to bring us
  in line with what the other campuses are doing.
• 100 refund only before term begins (not on the
  first day of the term as in the past)
• 16-week term
• 1st week 80
• 2nd week 60
• 3rd week 40
• 4th week 20
• No refunds after the Census date
• Dates are prorated for shorter sessions

Student Training Communication

• We need your help!
• Communication
• Emails are being directly to students
• Posters Table Tents distributed on campus
  April 2
• Postcards for advisors to hand out during
  appointments
• Training
• Interactive training videos on the Web
• Printable Word documents with step-by-step
  instructions
• Student lab assistants will be trained how to use
  the system
• Advisors (thats you!) you will be trained how
  to use the system like a student so you can help
  the students

Problems with Pathway?

• First resource Call Center, callcenter_at_umkc.edu,
  816-235-2000
• Trouble-shoot SSO and password issues
• Basic knowledge of Pathway functions
• It is important for students to know their
  Student ID when they contact the Call Center for
  help
• Error messages, unable to register, or unknown
  issues will be referred to the Registrars office
