• Web services lend Autonomic computing the concept
  of platform independency
• Autonomic computing lends web services the
  attributes providing self-management
• Idea is to combine these two to achieve autonomic
  web services

  autonomic manager

Research Ideas

• Web services will not be able to survive in
  unexpected operational environment (i.e., not
  robust)
• Difficult to achieve autonomic computing in
  heterogeneous computing environments
• Functional web services what we generally refer
  to as web services
• Autonomic web services WS that encapsulate
  autonomic attributes to provide autonomic
  behavior
