INTRODUCTION
Israel had just crossed the River Jordan. The
generation that were circumcised has perish in
the wilderness because of unbelief. This new
generation preparing to possess the Promise land
had not been circumcised. God commanded Joshua
to circumcised them.
5V5 Abrahamic Covenant The names of God and
titles of God are Gods covenant names and
titles to Israel. Circumcision was the sign of
the Abrahamic Covenant. If they were not
circumcised, then Gods Covenant Title cannot be
Israels reality. It is now four days after
the crossing. The newly circumcised generation
has now recovered.
KEY 1 Obedience

7- V13 Has a sword drawn in his hand.
- Joshua asked him a question.
- Are you for a us, or for our adversary
- What was the response?
- He said No and called himself as the
- captain of the host of the Lord and I am

Sabaoth - V14 How did Joshua response?
- fell on his face submission, honor
- worship
3. Called him, lord
8Joshua realized that it was the Lord. This is
another appearance of "Christophany" (pre
incarnate appearance of the Messiah). Sometimes
we refer to this as Theophany.
Verse 15 - How did the Lord response?
- Loose thy shoes meaning
- submission
- honor
- reverent
- 2. How did Joshua response?
- He obeyed.
9Spies have surveyed the city of Jericho. Report
revealed Jericho was impregnable. Realistically
an impossible task because of the massive
fortification. Correct assumption - Joshua
probably praying and seeking God. Prayer is
always a good place to begin when confronted with
challenges. The Lord promised those who seek
Him will find Him.
God with man all things are possible.
