Distribution System Classification
5
Maximum Number of Allowable Taps
  • Municipal, County systems will not be assigned a
    maximum
  • Community system with only one well limited to 49
    taps
  • Systems using hydropnuematic storage only,
    limited to 300 taps
  • Otherwise, the maximum is based on the total
yield of the well(s), treatment plant capacity,
master metered connection capacity, or storage
    capacity

6
Reliable System Capacity
  • Based on well capacity, master meter connections,
    and treatment plant capacity
  • Emergency or standby sources are not included

7
Surface and Groundwater Sources and Treatment
Facilities
  • Raw water source, location, and ID Number

    treatment facilities have sufficient capacity
with auxiliary power to supplement peak demands

  • Usable volume is 1/3 of total tank
  • Sized to provide the difference between the
instantaneous demand and the well yield for a
    minimum of 20 minutes
  • Ground
