Title: First Look at Housekeeping Data
1First Look at Housekeeping Data
- The goal
- Demonstrate the ability to correlate housekeeping
data with science data - Generate a list of distributions to be monitored
for the LAT tests during IT - Improve and tailor the system to match ISOC needs
- Todays Test
- Correlate hit multiplicity in a layer with
temperature from CAL and TKR sensors - The method
- Verify that temperature values agree with
expectation - Correlate temperature with layers in the TKR
2Location of TKR sensors
There are 2 sensors attached to each of the 8 TKR
cables In the diagram above we only highlighted 8
of the 16 sensors
3Location of temperature sensor in TKR
Sensor 1
Sensor 0
4Location of CAL sensors
Thermistor
5What do we expect for 2 towers?
- Grid temperature is close to that of CAL
- OK
- Bottom sensor of TKR could be a few degrees above
the grid temperature - OK
- Top sensor of TKR should be at a higher
temperature than bottom sensor - Oops, this is not what we see.
- See next slides

8Whats up with the discrepancy?
- There are three reasons why the TKR top could be
at lower temperature than TKR bottom? - Error in data analysis code that plots the
distributions - Xin already checked this is not the case
- Variations as function of time
- Xin already checked this is not the case
- Error in mapping the thermistor when reading it
out and before loading into the database - Error in loading the values in the ISOC database
- Jim Panetta is checked that this is not the case
- Expectations based on current configuration are
actually wrong - Will ask Martin Nordby about that
- Could be an issue in converting values in the TEM
- Will ask Mike/Leonid about it
