Dr. Louis E. LaGrand

• Louis E. LaGrand Louis is Distinguished
  Service Professor Emeritus at the State
  University of New York and Adjunct Professor of
  Health Careers at the Eastern Campus of Suffolk
  Community College in Riverhead, New York. He
  was a member of the debriefing team for the
  Nassau County Medical Examiners office on the
  TWA Flight 800 disaster, a former member of the
  Board of Directors of the Association for Death
  Education and Counseling, and a founder and
  past-president of Hospice of St. Lawrence
  Valley.
• The author of 8 books and numerous articles, he
  is known world-wide for his research on the
  extraordinary experiences of the bereaved
  (After-Death Communication phenomena). His first
  two books on the subject of the extraordinary
  have been translated into several languages.
  Messages and Miracles The Extraordinary
  Experiences of the Bereaved is listed in the 100
  Top Bestsellers for Counseling by the Online
  Dictionary of Mental Health. Love Lives On
  Learning from the Extraordinary Encounters of the
  Bereaved, his book, was released in November,
  1006 by Berkley Books.
• Dr. LaGrand holds advanced degrees from Columbia
  University, the University of Notre Dame, and
  Florida State University and is certified in
  Thanatology by the Association for Death
  Education and Counseling. He has appeared on
  numerous radio and TV shows throughout the
  country including Unsolved Mysteries, Art Bell
  Coast to Coast, and Strange Universe. With 25
  years of counseling the bereaved, he is an
  international speaker who gives workshops on
  death-related topics in schools, hospices, and
  health agencies. He is currently Bereavement
  Coordinator at Our Lady of Lourdes in Venice,

Kubler-Ross Center of Houston, Dianne is an
international presenter on the topics of death,
dying, grief, afterlife encounters. She has
appeared on shows such as Oprah Geraldo, and
documentaries such as Ancient Prophecies, the
Learning Channels Forces Beyond, CBCs Man Alive
more. Known for having assembled the worlds
largest database of over 10,000 case studies
involving contact with the other side, as well
as being a two time author with ground breaking
research in the connection between the fields of

Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D., C.T.,
Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D., C.T.
is an internationally noted author, educator and
grief counselor. He serves as Director of
the Center for Loss and Life Transition and
is on the faculty at the University of Colorado
Medical School's Department of Family
Medicine. Past recipient of the
Association of Death Education and Counseling's
Death Educator Award, Dr. Wolfelt is an
educational consultant to hospices, hospitals,
schools, universities, funeral homes and a
variety of community agencies across North
America. Perhaps best known for his model of
"companioning" versus treating the bereaved, Alan
is committed to helping people mourn well so they
can live well and love well. Also a respected
author, Dr. Wolfelt writes the "Children and
Grief" column for Bereavement magazine. His many
bestselling books on grief are listed under
Bookstore on this Website. He has appeared on,
and is a frequent resource for the media.
Appearances include Oprah Winfrey, The Larry King
Show, The NBC Today Show and Nick News. Dr.
Wolfelt and his wife, Sue, a family physician,
