• During meiosis, something goes wrong and the
  chromosomes dont separate properly, which causes
  Down Syndrome.
• Women over the age of 40 have a higher risk of
  giving birth to a child with Down Syndrome.

Symptoms of Down Syndrome

• Slightly small head that is flattened in the back
  
• Up-slanted eyes
• Extra skin folds at the inner corners of the eyes
  
• Small ears, nose, and mouth

• Learn how to talk and walk slightly later than
  usual
