2 XIO Compact I/O Family Features
- XIO Compact I/O are distributed I/O for use with
the Honeywell XL5000 product line. - Additional I/O for XL50 or XL500 controllers
- Easy installation via LNS Plug-in
- Small profile allows for installation in
otherwise hard to reach areas - The XIO Compact I/O family fills out Honeywells
already robust distributed I/O offering - XIO Compact I/O
- XFL Distributed I/O
- XFC Smart I/O
3XIO Compact I/O
The XIO Compact I/O offers these distinguishable
features
- Easy installation
- DIN rail mounting
- Only 2 twisted pair wires for up to 15 modules.
Run 24VAC and Lon Network cable to first module
then link 14 more to the first - Easy to expand
- Pick and chose the right number of I/O for each
job. No longer have unused I/O on the job - Eye-pleasing form factor
- No complex buttons or switches
- Compact
- Very small profile. Install in places other
modules couldnt fit - Save time and money
- No need to run extra wire for 24VAC and Lon
network saves labor time and wire costs - Range of input and output types and sensors
- 8 Modules DI, DO, AI, AO and a HUB expander
module
4Opens Up New Markets
- The XIO can help you open doors with New
Contractors - Bring to any open Lon system contractor
- Use as a door opener the XIO will already work
with their system - Start with the XIO and come back to talk about
valves and actuators - Once you have their attention with the XIO you
have a reason to make a second call - Valves
- Actuators
- Building Controls

7XIO-10DI
- Typical Applications
- Pump Status, Power status, Freeze Status
- LON module with 10 digital inputs
- Record the status of potential free switches (dry
contacts) - electronic limit switches at vent valves or
auxiliary contacts at power contactors - record counted measurands at counters with
contactor. - Terminals 1 - 10 and the C (common) input
contacts can be connected to potential free
switches (dry contacts) - States and counted measurands are read out by
standard network variables and bound to XL500 or
XL50 controllers - Configuration is done by LNS Plug-in
8XIO-4DI
- Typical Applications
- Pump Status, Power status, Freeze Status
- LON module with 4 digital inputs
- Record the status of potential free switches (dry
contacts) - electronic limit switches at vent valves or
auxiliary contacts at power contactors - record counted measurands at counters with
contactor - Terminals 1 - 4 and C (common) input contacts can
be connected to potential free switches (dry
contacts) - States and counted measurands are read out by
standard network variables and bound to XL500 or
XL50 controllers - Configuration is done by LNS Plug-in
9XIO-4DO
- Typical Applications
- Start up a remote device such as packaged boiler
exhaust fans and remote pumps - LON module with 4 digital outputs
- Switch electrical components
- motors, contactors, lamps, blinds etc.
- Relays activated by standard network variables
- Manual control override function that is only
activated in the "Configured Mode" - Configuration is done by LNS Plug-in
10XIO-8AI
- Typical Applications
- Remote sensors such as Outdoor Air Temperature,
hot water loop temps at the end of a loop,
differential pressure that is 2/3 of the way down
the system, outside humidity, enthalpy, monitor
room temperatures using 1 XIO-8AI per floor. - LON module with 8 configurable temperature or
voltage analog inputs - Record temperatures and voltages of passive and
active sensors - electrical ventilation and mixing valves, valve
positions - Different formats can be read out depending on
the setting for each input, and bound to other
LonMark devices - Temperature, resistance, percentage and voltage
- Supply voltage for active sensors can be provided
by the module. - Configuration is done by LNS Plug-in
11XIO-4NTC
- Typical Applications
- Same as XIO-8AI but for 20K NTC sensors only
- More accurate at the normal operating range
- LON module with 4 specific analog inputs for 20K
NTC sensors - Inputs can be scanned simultaneously by standard
network variables, SNVT
12XIO-4PT1000
- Typical Applications
- Same as 8AI but for PT1000 sensors only
- More accurate at extreme ranges
- LON module with 4 specific analog inputs for
Platinum 1000 sensors - Inputs can be scanned simultaneously by standard
network variables, SNVT
13XIO-4AO
- Typical Applications
- Control a VFD for an exhaust fan. Control for a
cooling tower fan, remote pumps, and speed
control - LON module with 4 analog outputs
- Outputs are activated proportionally by the
network variables, SNVTs - Provide a voltage between 0 and 10 Volts
- Outputs can be set to a previously defined value
depending on a binary state - Manual overrides included
- Configuration is done by LNS Plug-in
14XIO-10HUB Extension Module
- Typical Applications
- Used primarily with XIO-10DI. See figure at
right - Provides additional potential free contacts as
supporting contacts to connect digital outputs,
analog outputs, etc. - Six contacts each are interconnected.
- A maximum of 60 volts can be applied to the
contacts. - The extension module can be used as a power on
module for bus connection, supply voltage and
potential distribution.
15Selling Points
- Easy installation
- Small footprint
- Easily Expandable
- Link up to 15 different modules together with
jumper clip. No need for extra wire for power
and network - Lower I/O count than XFL and XFC less unused I/O
on the job - DIN rail mounting
