Compensation paid for the selected position can
be instantly compared to comparable
organizations. Comparables can be analyzed in
relation to organization revenue, assets, total
expenses, or grants.

Example Use of ERIXA-TE ERIs Executive
Compensation Assessor Tax Exempt Edition
(ERIXA-TE) is an interactive and exceptionally
versatile software program. The user has the
ability to run thousands of analyses, each
analysis adjustable by position, industry,
organization size, geographic area and valuation
date.
Here is an example of how ERIXA-TE
works. Selecting a Position Title - Step 1 Under
Position click on any job title listed to
select a new job title. For example, here we
select the job title President.

Selecting an Industry - Step 2 From the same main
screen, select Data That Affects Salaries then
select Browse next to Industry. For our
purposes, select Health, then E0 Health
General and Rehabilitative, now select E24 -
Hospital, Specialty and finally click OK.
The ERIXA-TE edition analyzes the Form 990 and
990-PF data that ERI obtains directly from the
IRS. Each Form 990 that comprises the underlying
database can be researched and observed. In the
future, ERI will endeavor to provide a complete
historical database of all Form 990 reports from
1998 to the current year.

Selecting Organization Size - Step 3
ERIXA-TE defaults to an organization revenue of
1,000,000 to 20,000,000. The screen to the
right demonstrates an analysis for those
organization reporting revenue ranging from
1,000,000 to 10,000,000. Select Comparables
under View in order to view comparable
organizations. Via the Comparable
Organizations screen at the bottom of the
program, the user can filter the search to
analyze only those organizations that match the
specific NTEE code selected.

Red Line Click on the Big Graph button located
above the graph. The larger red line
represents the line of best fit for purposes of
reasonable compensation analysis. This red line
demonstrates the predicted weighted average for
compensation for the selected position based on
the industry and organization size selected.
Analyzing the actual compensation arrangement for
a given organization is as simple as clicking on
any one of the above dots. From there, the
summary compensation table and Form 990 reports
can be instantly accessed.

Comparable Organizations
In the image to the right, the highlighted dot
located just below the larger red line represents
the compensation information from the Form 990
filed by the Childrens Hospital and Health
Center located in San Diego, California.
Click on the dot and the summary compensation
table appears below. From here, the user can
load complete, historical Form 990 reports filed
by the Childrens Hospital or instantly compare
other hospitals and similar organizations.

Red Dots and Red Names Under Comparable
Organizations, one organization will appear in
the color red. This identifies the closest
comparable organization with the highest pay
based on the users data input. The analysis can
also take into account the geographic area
(zip/postal code range), company size and
valuation date. Note, the red dot representing
the individuals pay may be literally off the
chart, if that individual is paid a
significantly high compensation. Blue Dots and
Blue Names The blue organization names in the
Select Comparable field indicate the next four
closest comparable organizations based on the
organization size, revenue and geographic
location selected.

Proxy Analyses Tab Historical Form 990 reports
are accessible by selecting any organization
listed under the Form 990 Analyses. In order to
browse complete 990 and 990-PF reports, an
internet connection is required. Retrieve
Raw Data - Form 990s Here is the year 2000 Form
990 for the Childrens Hospital.

Essential Feature ERIs latent semantic analysis
feature can search the entire ERIXA-TE database
by name or pseudonym. The program will identify
if one person or alias is listed in more than one
Form 990 within the database. See the screen
below demonstrating a search of 990 reports
listing W Smith as a highly paid
employee/officer.
